a dedicated space for BDSM and kink scenes, sometimes furnished with equipment to facilitate play. Can be any room or area and does not need to be subterranean.


Real Life Examples

“The Guilded Cage” is a dedicated BDSM space that is decorated in glitter-and-gold rococo style. 

The Citadel is a play space in San Francisco that hosts community events.

Common Practices &

Experiences 

Everyone is different! You'll see this repeated throughout our website and glossary. Common practices and experiences involving dungeons include, but certainly aren't limited to:

  • Strict rules and guidelines.
  • Dedicated space for specific types of play.
  • Hosting various events for sections of the community (often on a regular basis, yearly, monthly, weekly etc.) 
  • Having high-quality equipment for use on-sight, such as a Saint Andrews cross.
