Slots are opened up based on our availability. If you see a "Sold Out" sign above, we are not currently accepting commissions due to a high volume of orders. Please sign up to be notified when we open up more slots.

 

  • Purchase this listing to reserve a commission slot. The full price of your commission will depend on what you'd like to order, the complexity of the design, what materials it's made with, and whether supplies need to be special ordered. Once all of the details are sorted and a quote is provided, payment is due in full before we order supplies and start work on your order.
  • The commission slot fee will be deducted from your custom order total.
  • The standard production time for commissions is 4 weeks. Rush production can be negotiated and added to the price depending on the project.
  • Commissioned projects are not eligible for return or exchange, so during your consultation process, we'll make sure all of the details are just right.
  • Full payment is due up front for all commissions.
  • Cancelations are only accepted up until the point that supplies are ordered or work is started. In the event your order is canceled, any expenses already incurred will be deducted from your refund.
  • Consultations will be via email, unless it's determined that a live chat or Skype session would be more efficient.

Important Shipping Notes

Due to COVID-19, all shipping carriers are experiencing service delays. We cannot guarantee any order by any specific date at until further notice.


You will receive an order confirmation upon checkout, a shipping confirmation email with tracking info once your order ships, as well as tracking updates via email until your order is delivered.


Please make sure to include all necessary information to complete your order, and add info@restrainedgrace.com to your safe senders list, as this is how we will contact you if we have any questions about your order. 

Made to Order Items

Leather gear, jewelry, brooches, engraved items, and anything remotely customized or made to your measurements will be 100% made to order. We do not carry inventory of these products, only the supplies to make them. Due to the volume of orders we receive, and our small team, our production time ranges from 2-6 weeks. 

Ready to Ship Items

  • When ordered with made to order items, ready to ship items will ship together with the rest of your order.
  • When ordered on their own, will ship within 2-3 business days.

Measurements

Almost all of our pieces are made to measure, and many cannot be resized. It's extremely important that you provide accurate measurements to within 1/2". 


-For adjustable collars, cuffs, and harnesses, please provide your actual measurements. When in doubt, size down.


-For locking collars, necklaces, day collars, and anything else that doesn't adjust, please provide your desired finished length. When in doubt, size up.


Measuring your Neck: Measure around the part of your neck where you want the collar to lay. If you want it tight at the center of your neck, measure it there. If it's a looser style that you want to lay at your collar bone, or lower, measure where the collar will lay across the back of your neck and down to where it will hang.

Materials & Care

About Our Materials

  • All plating will wear off over time, but much faster if not cared for properly. The only gold products that do not fade over time are solid gold and gold filled.
  • All of our leather gear hardware is nickel free and lead free.
  • Iridescent rainbow hardware is made with a finish known as neochrome, which has a chrome base, and contains chromium. People with a chromium allergy should not wear this hardware.
  • Sterling silver will naturally oxidize over time, and with exposure to water, sweat, chemicals, salt, and air.
  • Sterling silver can be polished with any jewelry polishing cloth to restore the beautiful original shine.
  • Gold plated steel is strong and durable, but the plating will still fade over time. By all accounts and tests, rose gold plating will fade faster than yellow gold plating.
  • Gold Dipped Sterling is solid .925 sterling silver that has been dipped in 14K gold or rose gold in house. It will not tarnish, however the plating can fade with wear.
  • Gold filled jewelry features a much thicker coating of gold than plated jewelry, which will not fade over time.

Care, Cleaning, and Storage

All of our pieces are made to last with proper care. To keep your piece looking beautiful, we recommend the following:


AVOID GETTING IT WET

Water, from a shower, pool, lake, ocean, and even sweat will react with the plating. Rose gold contains copper, and this will cause it to oxidize. Even sterling silver will oxidize black. This goes double for any piece with beads, including pearls and crystals. Water will damage any beading.


AVOID CHEMICALS

Perfumes, body sprays, hair sprays, any kind of spray. Lotions, sunscreen, moisturizers. Anything you put on your body should be applied and dry before your jewelry or gear goes on.


KEEP IT CLEAN

​​​​​​​Clean your jewelry when you take it off. Simply wipe it down with a soft, dry cloth to remove any residue. For plated jewelry, this requires extra care, as polishing cloths can remove the plating very quickly. You definitely don't want to use anything abrasive, like a toothbrush.


DON'T WEAR IT 24/7

​​​​​​​Plating, unfortunately, has a lifespan, and the more you wear it, the faster it will fade.


STORE IT SAFELY

​​​​​​​Keep your jewelry wrapped in a soft cloth, bag, or in a drawer. You can hang it from a jewelry organizer, just do your best to keep it clean and untangled. Avoiding exposure to air will prevent silver, copper, and brass from oxidizing.


REMEMBER: IT'S STILL JEWELRY

​​​​​​​We know this piece is special. All of the things we make are incredibly special, because they all have tremendous meaning for the owner. But remember, it's still a piece of jewelry, and if you love it, and take proper care of it, it can last for a long time.

Should you require a repair, a resize, a replacement, or be dissatisfied with your purchase for any reason, please contact us and we’ll make it right.

The fine print: 
-Unworn & unused items may be returned within 60 days of shipment for replacement, refund, or store credit; or after 60 days, for a replacement or a store credit.
-Returned items that show significant signs of wear are subject to a 50% restocking fee.
-Engraved items are subject to a 50% restocking fee. 
-For hygiene reasons, we cannot accept returns or exchanges on insertables, including gags. Please contact us if you feel your product is defective.
-Sample sale items are final sale, no refunds or exchanges.
